As much as fairy tales and modern media try to tell us that the Japanese world was a romantic place to be living in, nothing can be far from the truth. Not all Japanese men were just and not all rich men married their slaves. Wars and injustice was a traditional place and indeed, Japanese bondage rule ruled the world now and may the strongest man win. As much as the chicks of today would hate that sentence.
Sith torment and slaves was commonplace, so were prisoners, and we can bet our asshole penny that there was no Geneva Convention to stop the winning bondage side to use all kinds of torment to either extract information or to simply punish the losing side to have the guts to challenge their superiority.
